I am sure you guys are very familiar with micellar water. It has been around for a long while and was really popular since a few years back. Made up of micelles (tiny oil molecules) suspended in soft water, micellar water can draw out impurities without drying out the skin. It can be used as a facial wash, makeup remover, toner and moisturizer all in one. Furthermore, no rinsing is needed! A gentle water cleanser wonderful for people with sensitive skin!
Today, I will be reviewing micellar water from Bioderma’s Sensibio range. A range that is great for soothing sensitive skin! I have tried the Sensibio H2O over the week and here’s my review on it~
Product: Sensibio H2O
Price: $15.90 (100ml), $28.90 (250ml), $41.90 (500ml)
Made In: France
Feeling on skin: ★★★★★
Overall Rating: 4.5/5
Bioderma Sensibio H2O
Sensibio H2O is a cleansing water made of highly purified water (highest grade of pharmaceutical water completely free of impurities and irritants). Its unique composition and the patented natural D.A.F. (Dermatological Advanced Formulation) complex helps increase the skin’s tolerance threshold in the event of external stress. It is the first and only dermatological micellar water that is perfectly compatible with the skin. Fatty acid esters (the constituent elements of micelles) helps to rebuild the skin’s hydrolipidic film naturally.
Water (Aqua), Peg-6 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Mannitol, Xylitol, Rhamnose, Fructooligosaccharides, Propylene Glycol, Disodium Edta, Cetrimonium Bromide
Paraben-free. Fragrance-free. Hypoallergenic.
– Soak a cotton pad with Sensibio H2O.
– Gently cleanse and/or remove make-up from your face and eyes.
– Re-apply until the cotton pad becomes clean
– Lightly dab your face with a clean cotton towel.
I tested the effectiveness of the Sensibio H2O as a makeup remover by removing daily makeup and heavy makeup. Let’s see how many cotton pads it takes for complete makeup removal~
Light daily makeup: BB Cushion, eyebrow pencil, liquid eyeliner, waterproof mascara, blusher and lipstick.
Three cottons pads were needed to remove light daily makeup. Forth one for double cleanse.
Heavy makeup: Liquid and powder foundation, eyebrow pencil, smokey eyes, liquid eyeliner, false lashes, bronzer, highlighter, blusher, lipstick.
(Follow me on instagram to view my upcoming video on this smokey eye look 😃)
Six cottons pads were needed to remove the above heavy makeup. Seventh one to double cleanse. A lot of effort was needed to remove the lash glue. So, I recommend using a waterproof eye-makeup remover instead for heavy eye makeup, especially is false lashes or heavy coats of waterproof mascara.
Feeling on skin
The Sensibio H2O is a very gentle cleanser that feels just like water. It doesn’t sting the eye when cleansing eye makeup. Skin feels clean, refreshed and comfortable after using the Sensibio H2O. No sticky, oily or tight feeling!
Love the comfort level and gentleness of it. Not only does it cleanse, it tones and moisturises the skin as well! I am going to change my cleanser to Bioderma Sensibio H2O! However, I will use my regular makeup remover first, and use this as a facial wash to cleanse off any excess impurities on my face.
I highly recommend this as a cleanser for everyone, especially those with dry or sensitive skin issues! (＾＾)ｂ
Now, let me also introduce 2 new products from Bioderma’s Sensibio range!
Bioderma Sensibio Dermatological Water
Sensibio Dermatological water is a soothing facial mist that is developed through Bioderma dermatology research. Owing to its mineral salts and oligo-elements content, Sensibio Dermatological water is ideal for relieving sensations of discomfort on skin due to sun-exposure, shaving, etc. It contains the patented natural D.A.F. complex that helps increase the skin’s tolerance threshold as well~
Aqua/Water/Eau, Zinc Sulfate, Mannitol, Xylitol, Rhamnose, Fructooligosaccharides, Potassium Phosphate, Magnesium Sulfate, Sodium Citrate, Calcium Chloride, Sodium Bicarbonate, Sodium Chloride, Citric Acid, Disodium Phosphate, Potassium Chloride, Nitrogen. [Bi 472]

– Spray a fine mist onto your skin as often as needed.
Spraying the Bioderma Sensibio Dermatological Water in the middle of a hot & humid day is super refreshing! The mist released from the spray bottle is powerful yet fine. Your face will not be too wet from spraying the mist, so it can be used over makeup to refresh your skin and give it a nice glow!
Price: $19.90 (150ml)
Bioderma Sensibio Gel Moussant
The Bioderma Sensibio Gel Moussant is a gel cleanser in the Sensibio range. Similar to the above 2 products, it also contains patented natural D.A.F. complex that helps increase the skin’s tolerance threshold. The Gel Moussant comes in a pump bottle packaging that has the locking function, where it will be locked when you turn the dispensing head to the left.
Aqua/Water/Eau, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Propanediol, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Citric Acid, Coco-Glucoside, Glyceryl Oleate, Sodium Citrate, Peg-90 Glyceryl Isostearate, Mannitol, Xylitol, Laureth-2, Rhamnose, Fructooligosaccharides, Tocopherol, Hydrogenated Palm Glycerides Citrate, Lecithin, Ascorbyl Palmitate.
– Apply on wet skin
– Work into a foam
– Rinse well and gently dry
The foaming gel can be used to remove light makeup.
The above collage shows my skin after one wash using the Bioderma Sensibio Gel Moussant. Makeup all gone! For heavier makeup, I suggest using a makeup remover, then the cleanser for a complete cleansing.
